Christopher Bubacz brings 25+ years of experience in the entertainment industry to the organization. His unique skill set combines experience in music/performance, audio recording, and business management. He spent his first 6 years as a recording engineer working with such high profile recording artists as Metallica, Spyro Gyra, and Lou Gramm and the last 19 years managing three major recording studios in the New York metro area: BearTracks, Sound on Sound, and Legacy Recording Studios. As someone who has successfully managed studios during the entertainment industry’s recent economic adjustment, Chris is well positioned to navigate this new venture with both hindsight and experience. Chris’ diplomatic skills will play an essential roll in brokering hybrid deals for clients who will be hiring the services of production companies operating from within the Center, and his large network of solid professional contacts will serve as the starting point for building the MEPC’s clientele. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Audio Recording Technology from SUNY Fredonia and a Masters degree in Music/Entertainment Business from NYU.
Lawrence Manchester
Lawrence Manchester has spent the last 16 years working as an engineer on numerous demanding entertainment productions (The Departed, Frida, The Good Shepherd, Across The Universe, Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, Shrek: The Musical, Saturday Night Live, Stand Up to Cancer). Lawrence is intimately familiar with the production needs of a top-tiered Hollywood film, a major label record album, or a network TV program. His reputation for delivering consistently successful results is evidenced by the number of high-profile artists (Julie Taymor, Howard Shore, Danny Elfman, John Fogerty) who’ve called upon his services. Of note is his ability to use technology to accomplish complex creative challenges while building and teaching teams of people to collaborate with him. These skills will prove vital to building the infrastructure for the facility and establishing collaborative workflows amongst the MEPC’s staff, management, and production partners. His broad base of contacts in film production, music creation, Broadway, and television will provide an immediate resource for building up the clientele of the MEPC. Lawrence holds Bachelor degrees in music and engineering from The Peabody Conservatory of Music and Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Arts degree from NYU.
